📣  ANNOUNCING KILKENNY CHOIRFEST 2024!  📣

Kilkenny's Lady Desart Choir is thrilled to announce that Kilkenny ChoirFest is back for 2024!

Organised by the Lady Desart Choir, and with all ticket proceeds this year going to Kilkenny/Carlow Samaritans, the festival will take place on Saturday, May 25th from 12pm to 6pm at the Castleinch Venue, Kilkenny, with kind and generous support from Michael Power, CEO of Castleinch Venue, R95 DW92.

After the resounding success of the inaugural event in 2023, which raised over €5000 for the event's charity partner, and brought the community together in a celebration of music and fun, the choir is eager to build on this foundation and create an even more impactful event in 2024.

In addition to ten choir performances across the afternoon, there will be child-friendly activities such as a giant bungee, bouncy obstacle course, face painting, games, and a visit from Nore Valley mobile mini-farm. There will also be entertainment from St. Patrick's Kilkenny Brass Band, and Beat FM will add to the party atmosphere, broadcasting from their 'Beast' OB unit with their troop of Beat Fleeters on hand to make sure everyone is having fun.

Full details are on our Kilkenny ChoirFest webpage.

THINGS THE LADY DESART CHOIR HAVE DONE!

The Lady Desart Choir is regularly invited to sing  at festivals (such as Kilkenny Cat Laughs, Rhythm and Roots, YuleFest etc) and we have performed in historic venues such as The Black Abbey, Ballykeefe Amphitheatre and Rothe House. We have also headlined sold-out concerts at St. Canice's Cathedral for the past two years (2022 and 2023).

We love performing and soaking up our audiences' responses, be that singing along, dancing, clapping (occasionally even crying with emotion!)

We have performed at several private and corporate events and parties, and we welcome booking enquiries for such events. Please get in touch if you would like to book us for your upcoming event.

PREVIOUS WORK & COLLABORATIONS

Our version of Norwegian singer-songwriter Aurora's "Running with the Wolves" from the 2020 animated fantasy adventure film Wolfwalkers, directed by Tomm Moore and Ross Stewart.

Our cover of this beautiful song was recorded as a tribute to both our beautiful medieval city of Kilkenny and the amazing Cartoon Saloon, the animation studio and production company based here in Kilkenny who co-produced Wolfwalkers.

We hope you enjoy it!
